Daily Freeman Journal Webster City, Iowa November 14, 1973 Funeral Notes MARTIN I. WESTRUM Martin I. Westrum, 73, of rural Stratford died suddenly at his home early this morning. He had been a life long resident of that community. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Stratford Lutheran church with the Rev. Robert L. Nelson officiating. Burial will be in the South Marion cemetery. Friends may call at the Hanson-Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Stratford from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday and from 9 a.m. until noon on Friday at which time the casket will be taken to the church. Martin Westrum was born July 3, 1900, in Stratford, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James [Jonas] O. Westrum. He was reared and educated in the Stratford community. He was united in marriage to Mabel Angstrom in Fort Dodge on Aug. 2, 1922. The couple made their home on a farm near Stratford. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Gayle Westrum of Boone, Gerald Westrum of Stratford, Eugene Westrum of Stratford and Lyle Westrum of Boone; two daughters, Mrs. Ted (Marietta) Grabau of Boone and Mrs. Richard (Marilyn) Palmer of Menasha, Wis.; two sisters, Mrs. G. C. (Ruby) Erickson of Birmingham, Mich., and Mrs. Howard (Alberta) Ewing of Cedar Rapids; one brother, Eldon Westrum of Stratford; and 16 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harold; and two sisters, Mrs. Edgar (Opal) Crim and Pearl, who died in infancy. |
